Description
A fun and easy weeknight dinner that takes all the savory, cheesy flavor of a French dip and bakes it into a flaky, golden biscuit.
Ingredients
- → 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
- → 8 slices deli roast beef
- → 8 slices provolone cheese
- → 1/4 cup butter, melted
- → 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- → 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- → 1 teaspoon onion powder
- → 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- → 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
- → 1/2 teaspoon salt
- → 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- → 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to the temperature on the biscuit dough can. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the biscuit dough and flatten each biscuit into a round. Place a slice of provolone cheese and a slice of roast beef on each round.
- Fold the biscuits in half and pinch the edges together to seal them.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Brush the butter mixture over the tops of the biscuits. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, heat the beef broth in a small saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in any leftover butter mixture. Let it simmer until ready to serve.
- Serve the warm biscuits with the au jus for dipping.
Notes
- Make sure you seal the edges of the biscuits tightly to prevent the filling from leaking out.
- For the best au jus, use a good quality beef broth.
- Use a pastry brush to evenly coat the biscuits with the herbed butter mixture.
- This recipe is best served immediately for the gooiest cheese and flakiest biscuits.
