Description
A quick, cheesy, and savory twist on a classic chili dog, with a flaky crescent roll crust.
Ingredients
- → 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough
- → 4 hot dogs
- → 1 cup chili (canned or homemade)
- → 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- → 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- → 1 teaspoon onion powder
- → 1 tablespoon chopped green onions (optional)
- → Cooking spray or oil (for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 rectangles. Press the seams together to seal them if necessary.
- Spread 1/4 cup of chili evenly over each dough rectangle, leaving a border. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of cheese.
- Place one hot dog at the bottom of each rectangle and roll the dough up tightly. Pinch the sides and seams to seal them.
- Place the rolls, seam-side down, on a baking sheet.
- In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder and onion powder. Sprinkle the mixture over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Garnish with green onions if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Don’t overfill the rolls, as the filling can leak out during baking.
- Make sure to seal the dough tightly.
- For a crispier finish, lightly spray the rolls with cooking spray before baking.
- This is a great recipe to get the kids involved in!
