A flavor-packed and comforting meal that brings all the best parts of a classic burger to your dinner table, sans bun.
Ingredients
- → 1 pound ground beef (preferably 80/20 for flavor)
- → 8 slices of bacon, chopped
- → 1 small onion, diced
- → 2 cloves garlic, minced
- → 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- → 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- → 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- → 4 large eggs
- → 1/2 cup heavy cream
- → 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- → 1 teaspoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- → 1 teaspoon salt
- → 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- → 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- → 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- → 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- → Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain the grease.
- In the same skillet, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned. Drain any excess grease. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Transfer the beef and onion mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the crispy bacon and halved cherry tomatoes over the top.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and all the seasonings.
- Pour the egg mixture over the beef and bacon. Top with the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is set. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For the best flavor, do not drain all the grease from the ground beef.
- You can cook this in a cast-iron skillet for a one-pan meal.
- This casserole is a great option for meal prep.
